Looking to buy a French Chateau?
As French Chateau’s are protected, and often take a long time to sell, it can be very difficult to arrange a mortgage, but not impossible.
If you’re looking to buy a Chateau, then the first thing to check is if the property is actually registered as a Chateau, or if it’s more like a large manor house that includes the word “Chateau” in the properties name. The latter would be much easier to finance. The Notaire will be able to confirm the properties status.
