French Leaseback mortgages
French Leaseback properties, or Residence de Tourisme, are not as common as they used to be, although they are starting to become more popular again in the main tourist destinations like the French Alps. It be quite difficult to arrange a mortgage for a non-resident buyer to purchase a French leaseback property, but some banks are starting to lend again.
French Leasebacks are essentially commercial properties, where you buy a hotel room which has a commercial lease with a hotel group. This is different to the relatively new Para-Hotelier tax structure which is available on residential property.
