Tourists come throughout the year to wander through the many modern and contemporary art galleries, view the historical monuments and visit the old town. Saint-Paul-de-Vence attracts property buyers from all over the world. Although the focus is mainly on the individual segment, there are quality apartments concealed from the hustle and bustle of the streets below.
The town fortifications were established under the order of François I in the mid-15th century. This allowed the town to constitute a prominent place of safety and fortitude. The Colombe d‘Or hostel also remains a rendezvous for industry captains and artists. Saint-Paul-de-Vence is undoubtedly the only place that succeeds in combining these two trades, which are typically opposed to each other.
If you don’t mind a bit of a walk, you can take a 1 km journey through a fragrant pine forest passing three chapels and a convent until you reach the museum of Fondation Maeght.
