The Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallees) ski area is located in the French Alps and is the largest ski area in the world. Val Thorens is the highest resort in the Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallees) ski area, and in Europe, at 2,300m in altitude snow is guaranteed throughout the season and the mountain views are simply stunning. The Three Valleys is home to eight internationally renowned ski resorts, namely, Courchevel, La Tania, Meribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Orelle and Saint Martin de Belleville. Conveniently, it is possible to ski the entire interlinked valley using a single ski pass. Val Thorens ski terrain is suitable for beginners, right up to the most experienced skiers and snowboarders, with 600 km of linked pistes and a total of 82 runs. The hotels, apartments and chalets are ski-in / ski-out, making for a comfortable and convenient stay.
The apre ski atmosphere is fantastic, with plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs to keep you entertained after a day out skiing. There is also an indoor shopping center with plenty of shops and services are spread throughout the village, there is also a fitness area and sports center with spa. Many events take place in Val Thorens throughout the year, from mountain bike races in the summer to ski cross championships in the winter. The sports centre is open 7 days a week, and has a spa with sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room. There are swimming pools, a children’s club, Fun Park with trampolines and even a well-equipped fitness centre. Other than skiing and snowboarding, leisure activities range from music concerts and bowling to watching movies at the cinema. In summer the resort is just as busy and guests can partake in fishing, horse riding, hiking, golf, cycling, paint ball, rafting, tennis and even quad biking.
The closest airport is Chambery, which is 122km. The Moutiers train station (37 km away) has a regular shuttle bus travelling to and from Les Menuires and Val Thorens.
