Part of the incredible Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, this is an iconic French resort is built on an original 13th century village, with access to over 400 km of groomed pistes, 235 runs catering to all abilities and one terrain park. The relevant ski lift pass will grant visitors access to the entire Evasion Mont Blanc ski area. The village itself is said to be one of the most beautiful in France, with a large town square and church dating back to the 14th century. There are year-round activities such as golf, hiking, mountain biking, balloon trips and paragliding making summer in Megeve just as popular. In the winter, non-skiing activities range from ice-skating, snowshoeing, snowmobile, dogsledding, paragliding and heli-tours to visiting the Palais des Sports with its indoor swimming pools, well-equipped fitness centre and electric bumper-car track.
The apres ski atmosphere is lively and there is a wide selection of restaurants and bars with live music, DJ’s and organised events such as an international jazz festival and various mountain bike races. Megeve also has its own movie theatre, casino, ten-pin bowling and billiards. It is home to one of the world’s top spas, Les Fermes de Marie, as well as the only three Michelin starred chef in the Alps at Flocons de Sel. This is a family friendly resort and carries the “Famille Plus” label, meaning it has many facilities and regular entertainment and events for both children and adults. There is an Elves Village, horse and carriage rides, ice hockey, visits to the nearby dairy farms, laser games, children’s ski lessons, archery and horse and pony rides to name a few.
Getting to Megeve is easy, as Geneva airport is roughly an hour’s drive. Chambery and Grenoble Airports are only two hour’s drive or you could take the train directly to Sallanches-Combloux-Megeve station. There are bus and taxi services within the resort.
