Villefranche-sur-Mer is a true jewel located on the beautiful coast of the French Riviera. Close to Monaco, in the extreme south-east of France, the city has everything you could imagine. Monaco is just a few minutes’ drive away and is world famous for its glamorous Grand Casino, formula one Grand Prix, nightclubs, fine dining restaurants and boutique shopping. Visitors can explore the various monuments, museums, public gardens, Prince’s Palace, panoramic viewpoints, oceanographic museum and aquarium, art galleries, churches and harbour crammed with monstrously large luxury super-yachts. Nice on the other hand is approximately 7 km away. The famous Promenade Des Anglais (Walkway of the English) is a wonderful place to walk, cycle or run and see the beautiful city on one side and the calm, picturesque ocean on the other. Do as the locals do and sit at a café and people watch, or sit in the perfectly placed seats and benches and gaze out over the endless Mediterranean ocean. The Old Town is a must-see, with its numerous historical sites, cafés, quaint restaurants and the famous flower market selling not only a bright array of blooms, but fruit, vegetables, spices and other Provençal delicacies.
The train station is served by trains to Nice or Monaco. The nearest airport is Nice Cote d’Azure International Airport, which is located 13.9 km away via the motorway.
