Grasse is located just 20 minutes from Cannes, and attracts a lot of people for its tranquillity, quality of life, scenic landscapes and cultural and artisanal heritage. Known worldwide for its production of perfumes and essential oils, Grasse is also a superb city of art and history. Notably the museum of perfumery is a popular attraction, as is the museum of art and history of Provence. The jasmine festival takes place in August and is a lovely and unique experience. There is a street festival with parades, fireworks, flower stalls and animations – fun for the whole family.
The city is filled with pedestrian streets surrounded by charming houses and small craft shops. Grasse is the city that allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of the Côte d’Azur and rest in the hinterland of Provence. There are magnificent panoramas offered by the thousands of hectares of forests, garrigues and olive groves. You could even visit Domaine de la Royrie, an olive grove with trees dating back to the 1400’s. Explore the estate and stop for a tasting experience where you can sample some of the award winning olive oils and even purchase some for yourself.
The nearest airport is Nice Cote d’Azur, which is located 37.4 km away via the A8 motorway. Garre de Grasse is the railway station, which can be found in the town centre. Grasse also benefits from the proximity of the Sophia Antipolis research centre, which is less than 15 km away.
