Beausoleil (Beautiful Sun) is an attractive seaside village bordering with the Principality of Monaco. It is formerly known as the “Upper Monte Carlo”.
There are breath-taking views of the surrounding Agel and Tête de Chien mountains, not to mention out over the Mediterranean ocean. At a mere fraction of the cost, Beausoleil differs little from Monaco, although quieter and more family orientated. There are plenty of sports and activities on offer, boutique shopping and everything from quaint sidewalk cafés to fine dining.
If you don’t mind a little drive, you can visit Cannes, which is located 55 km away. Cannes is perhaps one of the most popular destinations on The Riviera, with its combination of luxury, beauty and glamour. The Croisette famously offers luxury shopping, exclusive bars and restaurants and exquisite sandy beaches. Alternatively, Monaco is just 750m away and is world famous for the glamorous Grand Casino, formula one Grand Prix, nightclubs, fine dining restaurants and boutique shopping. Visitors can explore the various monuments, museums, public gardens, Prince’s Palace, panoramic viewpoints, oceanographic museum and aquarium, art galleries, churches and harbour crammed with monstrously large luxury super-yachts. Nice on the other hand is located around 20.6 km away via the A8 motorway. The famous Promenade Des Anglais (Walkway of the English) is a wonderful place to walk, cycle or run and see the beautiful city on one side and the calm, picturesque ocean on the other. Do as the locals do and sit at a café and people watch, or sit in the perfectly placed seats and benches and gaze out over the endless Mediterranean ocean. The Old Town is a must-see, with its numerous historical sites, cafés, quaint restaurants and the famous flower market selling not only a bright array of blooms, but fruit, vegetables, spices and other Provençal delicacies.
Beausoleil’s nearest airport is Nice Cote d’Azur, located 30.7 km away via the A8 motorway.
