Sainte-Foy in the Tarentaise Valley: Guaranteed Snow Throughout the Season

This resort is incredibly charming and traditional, with wooden Savoyard chalets and panoramic views of snow coated mountains and Alpine forest, located in the French Alps close to the Italian border. Sainte-Foy slopes in the Tarentaise Valley are north-west facing, and at an altitude of 1 520 – 2 620m snow is practically guaranteed throughout the season.

The resort is child-friendly, with ski school and day care options with plenty of games, activities and animations to keep the little ones occupied. In total there are 30 km with 14 individual pistes (1 green, 4 blue, 8 red and 3 black) serviced by 5 lifts. Apart from skiing and snowboarding, other winter activities include snowshoeing, dog-sledding, ice-climbing, heli-skiing, paragliding and helicopter rides. There is also a spa and wellness centre for guests who would prefer to relax and unwind, as well as shops and all the necessary services and facilities.

Apres-ski is a little quieter here, although there are a few restaurants and bars, a taxi ride up to Val d’Isere is short and inexpensive. The closest airport is Chambery, at a one and a half hours’ drive. Lyone and Grenoble airport are both approximately 2 hours’ drive from the resort.
