Combloux is a very popular ski resort in the French Alps, 2.5mi (4 km) away from Megeve and 19 mi (30 km) from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. It has the first ecological lake in France, which is heated by the sun and open in summer time to swimmers. The temperature of the water can reach up to 26 degrees Celsius and it is the perfect setting for a family picnic. Combloux is part of the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, which has a total of 445 km of skiable pistes and 25 ski lifts. The elevation is 720 –1,784m, guaranteeing early season snowfall and snow late into the ski season. From the village there are exquisite views of the Mont Blanc and pristine Alpine lakes. There are 3 snow parks with a beginner’s area, a half pipe and boarder cross. Snowshoe tracks, sledge tracks and many hiking paths are also available for visitors to make use of.
Take advantage of year-round activities such as dog sledding, snowmobile and staying in an igloo in the wintertime, or paragliding, paintball, tennis, water-sports, mountain biking, hiking and horse drawn carriage rides in the summer. This is a family friendly resort as it carries the “Famille Plus” label and there are many family and children’s activities on offer such as an ice rink, skate park and dairy farm visits as well as a full babysitting service and nursery. Shops, restaurants and spa facilities are available to visitors and there is a lively apre ski atmosphere with live music, parties and organised events. Getting to Combloux is easy as both Geneva Airport and Annecy Airport are one-hour’s drive away, Chambery Airport is just over an hour and Lyon Airport is around two hour’s drive. If you arrive by train, you can get direct access to Sallanches. There are bus and taxi services within the resort.
