French Mortgage for a French Company
There could be a number of advantages to buying a French property through a French company. The two most common companies used are:
- Société Civile Immobilière, normally just called an SCI.
- SARL de Familie
When applying for a French mortgage, the lender will calculate affordability based on your personal circumstances, as though you were buying the property in your own name. So from a mortgage point of view, buying through a French company won’t impact how much you can borrow.
(It’s important to seek independent tax advice before deciding how to structure a property purchase)
