As part of the famous ski area, Les Grandes Rousses, with the relevant ski lift pass visitors will have access to 250 km of pistes with 117 slopes which cater for all levels of skier and snowboarder with 38 green runs, 31 blue, 33 red and 16 black all served by 84 lifts. There is also the ‘longest slope in the world’, with 16km of continuous skiing, two snow parks, a bob-sleigh area, night slopes, off-piste trails as well as nursery slopes. Aside from skiing and snowboarding, winter activity options include ice-skating, dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and paragliding. In addition to this there is a cinema, indoor swimming pool, gym and an indoor climbing area. When it comes to apre-ski visitors are spoilt for choice with a range of difference restaurants and bars. The village itself is located in a sunny bowl and is affectionately known as ‘L’Ile au Soleil’ (Island of the sun) as most of the slopes are south-facing and have exceptional views overlooking France and the Southern Alps. The closest airport is Grenoble at around 90 minutes’ drive.
