Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise Valley

The resort of Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise is incredibly charming. With traditional wooden Savoyard chalets and panoramic views of snow-coated mountains and Alpine forest. Mont Pourri mountain can be seen in the distance as can the picturesque Tarentaise valley 

You will find Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise located in the French Alps close to the Italian border. The resort slopes are north-west facing at an altitude of 1 520 – 2 620m,snow is practically guaranteed throughout the season.


The resort itself is child-friendly, with ski school and daycare options. There are plenty of games, fun-filled activities and animations to keep your little ones occupied. 

In total, you have access to 30 km with 14 individual pistes (1 green, 4 blue, 8 red and 3 black) serviced by 5 lifts. Being a quieter resort, you will find the ski slopes are uncrowded. It is fantastic for beginners and those wishing to gain confidence before venturing out to more difficult and trying slopes.

If you’d like to learn to ski or benefit from extra lessons, there are also excellent English-speaking ski schools as well as world-class instructors. 

Apart from skiing and snowboarding, other winter activities include snowshoeing, dog-sledding, ice-climbing, heli-skiing, paragliding and helicopter rides. Furthermore, there is a spa and wellness centre if you would prefer to relax and unwind, as well as shops and all the relevant services and facilities necessary for a comfortable stay.

Apres-ski is a little quieter here, although there are a few restaurants and bars, a taxi ride up to Val d’Isere is short and inexpensive. Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise manages to retain its true and authentic Alpine charm


The closest airport is Chambery, at just one and a half hours’ drive. Lyone and Grenoble airport are conveniently both approximately 2 hours’ drive from the resort.
