Located in the Espace Killy ski area, this resort gives access to 300 km of slopes, suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities as well as a terrain park and glacier. There are 154 pistes (22 green, 61 blue, 46 red and 25 black) and 20 km of cross country skiing, all serviced by 87 lifts. Top slopes sit at an altitude of around 3 400m and the village sits at around 1 850m.

Val d’Isere is considered one of the most beautiful ski resorts, it was once a rural farming village and has managed to maintain its authentic Alpine charm. The snowfall is excellent, and coverage tends to be one of the best in Europe with snow very early on in the season and continuing right up to the end of the season in May. There are always plenty of year-round activities to take part in, with summertime activities including white water rafting, canyoning, mountain biking, hiking, golf and 4×4 off-roading. Apart from skiing, winter activities include snowshoeing, heliski, dog sledding, ice driving, paragliding, winter walking, ice diving, ice-skating and tobogganing.

There is also a great apre-ski atmosphere, with a wide variety of fantastic bars and restaurants as well as a cinema, bowling alley, gym, spas, wellness center and many concerts and festivals held throughout the year. The resort is family friendly, so childcare options are available if necessary and there are plenty of child friendly activities for the little ones. There are a wide variety of restaurants to choose from as well as all the necessary services such as medical facilities, post office, ATM, foreign exchange, boutiques and sports shops and patisserie. Elaborate ice sculptures can often be found placed throughout the resort. Should you wish to travel to Tignes, then there is a shuttle service, taxi services or you could take the ski lifts.

The nearest airport is Chambery at one and a half hour’s drive, then Geneva (2 hours 15 minutes). The nearest train station is Bourg St Maurice, 40 minutes, which has regular shuttle busses to and from the resorts.
